Peace Program

The peace program works to provide opportunities for young people and adults in Alberta to actively engage in the process of peace-making. Since Alberta’s demographic identity is shifting, one way we can learn to appreciate the uniqueness of this diversity is to seek peace and pursue it.

Highlights

  • Planting Peace workshops in August/September of 2010 brought together young people from Alberta and various countries with conflict (Israel, Palestine, Colombia)  to talk about peacemaking.  Click to learn more.

  •  “How Do We Stop Killing Each Other?,” a public event at First Mennonite Church in Calgary, with international MCC peace workers Gopar Tapkida and Sani Suleiman, who talked about their work building bridges of communication between the Christian and Muslim populations in Nigeria.
