Material Resources

Merhamet, an MCC partner in Bosnia receives material aid in order to meet their goals, some of which are strengthening existing and establishing new soup kitchens, providing home care to the elderly and disabled, and involving school children in peacebuilding activities. MCC has helped Merhamet by supplying blankets, school kits, and health kits, as well as soup mix and canned meat. Part of MCC’s mission is to “…share God’s love and compassion for all in the name of Christ by responding to basic human needs…” Sharing resources is a concrete way to show God’s love for everybody on this earth. In the past year, MCC has shipped more than 61 000 blankets, 16 000 lbs of bath soap, and 223 000 kits worldwide. Whether it’s blankets to people affected by flooding in Pakistan, Relief kits to earthquake survivors in Haiti, or Newborn kits to impoverished mothers in Honduras, please know that that all the items we send are important to the recipient. Thank you for putting together kits and sewing blankets that show your generosity and dedication to providing high quality items that can withstand the harsh conditions many people who receive these items are facing. And as always, please remember to pray for those receiving material resources. Every blanket you sew can ease the comfort of one or of many. Every kit you put together makes a difference in someone’s life. Ways to Help

As a result of this and the worldwide financial crisis, people with a low life standard have become even more vulnerable.
